Serie A 2025-26 Power Rankings: Napoli eye back-to-back glory , AC Milan chase UCL return, Como set for a shock run
The countdown is almost over. On August 23, Serie A kicks off again, and it’s not exaggerating to say we’re walking into one of the strangest, most unpredictable seasons in years. Napoli lifted the Scudetto on the final day last season after a thrilling duel with Inter. Fast forward just two months, and the league has gone through a full makeover; 7 of last season’s top 10 have new managers. That’s not a typo. 7.

Conte stayed at Napoli despite Juventus flirting with him, Allegri is back at AC Milan, Sarri is back at Lazio, Pioli is back at Fiorentina, Serie A basically hit rewind and shuffled the deck. Bologna kept Vincenzo Italiano after a Coppa Italia win, but Inter let go of Simone Inzaghi after that Champions League disaster in Paris and handed the keys to Cristian Chivu. Gasperini left Atalanta after almost a decade to join Roma. It feels like the league pressed reset.

So where does that leave us going into 2025-26? Let’s rank them.

🏆Title Contenders ⚔️:

1. Napoli🔵⚪;

The champs are stronger. Conte didn’t just stay, he got reinforcements: Kevin De Bruyne on a free (yes, you read that right), Noa Lang, Sam Beukema, Lorenzo Lucca, and Vanja Milinković-Savić. Add that to a title-winning squad and you’ve got a team that looks ready to run it back. Their biggest advantage? Stability. While everyone else is learning new systems, Napoli already know exactly what Conte wants.

2. Inter 🔵⚫️;

Inter ended last season in heartbreak, no trophies, and a 5-0 demolition by PSG in the Champions League final. Now Chivu, the 2010 treble hero, is in charge. He’s a legend, but this is a gamble. Thirteen games with Parma is hardly a coaching résumé. The squad is still stacked, but will his lack of experience cost them in tight moments? We’ll find out fast.

3. AC Milan 🔴⚫️;

Milan are in rebuild mode, but don’t count them out. Allegri is back, and the last time he sat in this dugout he delivered a Scudetto. The catch? They’ve sold Tijjani Reijnders to Man City and Theo Hernández to Al-Hilal. That’s a lot of quality out the door. But with no European football to distract them, Milan could follow Napoli’s 2023-24 blueprint: focus on the league, and quietly sneak up on everyone.

4. Como 🔵⚪;

Call it a “surprise” if you want, but Como have spent over $100 million this summer. This is no fairytale — this is a project with serious money and Cesc Fàbregas at the helm. They refused to let him go to Inter, and now it’s on him to prove that Como aren’t just here to survive, but to crash the top four party. Serie A hasn’t seen a story like this in years.

🥈European Contenders 🌍:

5. Juventus ⚫️⚪️;

Igor Tudor stays after stepping in late last season, and Juventus start another cycle. They’ve lost sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, but let’s be honest: Juve always find a way into the mix. They may not be ready to challenge for the title, but a Champions League spot is firmly within reach.

6. Roma 🟠🔴;

The Gasperini era at Atalanta is over, and the Gasperini era at Roma begins. He arrives with a Europa League trophy in his bag and Claudio Ranieri now serving as an advisor. Roma have been crying out for a clear identity, and if anyone can give them one, it’s Gasp. The big question: can his chaos-ball style click fast enough to put Roma back into the top four?

7. Fiorentina 🟣⚪️;

Stefano Pioli is back after his Saudi adventure, and fans are expecting more than just vibes. Keeping Moise Kean was huge. Fiorentina finished sixth last season, but Pioli’s return makes them feel a little more dangerous — like the team nobody wants to deal with on a cold Sunday night.

8. Bologna 🔵🔴;

Vincenzo Italiano gave Bologna their first Coppa Italia in decades, but now comes the hard part: proving it wasn’t a one-off. Signing Ciro Immobile and Federico Bernardeschi gives them experience, but can Bologna make the leap from domestic cup winners to European regulars? The jury’s out.

9. Atalanta 🔵⚫️;

Life after Gasperini begins. Ivan Jurić knows his system inside out, having worked with him for years, but his last two gigs (Roma and Southampton) went south fast. Atalanta might look a bit lost early, and patience will be thin.

10. Lazio 🔵⚪️;

Sarri's back, but the money isn’t. Lazio didn’t strengthen over the summer because of financial struggles. Sarri-ball can work wonders, but only if the pieces fit — and right now, it feels like he’s short on a few.

🥉Safe Mid-table ⚖️

11. Torino 🔴⚪️;

The definition of steady. They don’t crash, they don’t fly high. With Marco Baroni in charge, expect the same: safe mid-table, no European push, no relegation fear.

12. Udinese ⚫️⚪️;

They had a calm season under Kosta Runjaic, which in Udinese terms is basically a trophy. Losing Lorenzo Lucca to Napoli hurts, but they’ll grind enough points to stay clear of trouble.

13. Genoa 🔵🟡;

Patrick Vieira starts his first full season, and while Genoa probably aren’t ready for Europe, they look too solid to get dragged down. A “see you in 12th place” kind of year.

14. Sassuolo 🟢⚫️;

They’re back after just one year in Serie B. Sassuolo have the money and the infrastructure to stick around — and you get the sense they’re going to reestablish themselves as a permanent Serie A club again.

15. Parma 🟡⚪;

Carlos Cuesta is 30. Yes, 30. Arsenal’s former assistant is now the youngest coach in Serie A history. It’s bold, it’s risky, and it could either be genius or a disaster. Parma fans might want to buckle up.

16. Cagliari 🔵🔴;

Fabio Pisacane, promoted from the U19s, is now in charge. The club’s been yo-yoing between chaos and survival for years, and this looks like another nail-biter of a season.

17. Hellas Verona 🟡⚪;

New American owners bring some stability, but the roster is thin. Their survival will probably depend on grinding ugly points.

18. Cremonese 🟤⚪️;

Davide Nicola is a relegation specialist, but even he might look at this squad and shrug. Without late summer reinforcements, they’re in big trouble.

19. Lecce ⚪🔵;

New coach Eusebio Di Francesco arrives, but the squad looks like it’s shrinking rather than growing. If Lecce stay up, it’ll be nothing short of a miracle.

20. Pisa 🔵⚫️;

Back in Serie A after more than 30 years, but the jump might be too big. They’ll need reinforcements fast, or else this could be a very short stay.

The beauty of Serie A this season is how wide open it feels. Napoli look ready to dominate, but Inter, Milan, and even Como have reasons to dream. Behind them, it’s a complete shuffle: big names with old coaches, ambitious projects, and wildcards everywhere. From De Bruyne in Naples to Cuesta’s teenage-manager energy at Parma, there’s no shortage of storylines. Italy’s most chaotic league is back. Buckle up.
